Parachute’s Downtown Revitalization: Community Voices Shape the Future

Parachute is embarking on a significant downtown revitalization project, with community input playing a pivotal role in shaping its future. Residents have expressed a strong desire for a vibrant downtown that includes dining options, small shops, and mixed-use buildings. Emphasis has been placed on creating a traditional, human-scaled environment featuring trees, shade, and gathering spaces to foster community interaction.

In line with these aspirations, the town has secured $3 million in federal funding for the reconstruction of 1st Street, a central artery in downtown Parachute. This funding will facilitate infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing walkability and supporting local businesses.

Additionally, the redevelopment of the former Parachute Inn into a 68-unit apartment complex with commercial retail space is underway. This project aims to address the growing need for workforce housing and stimulate economic activity in the downtown area.

These initiatives reflect Parachute’s commitment to revitalizing its downtown core by integrating community feedback and investing in projects that promote a thriving, connected community.
